Traveling Around The Disney World With Kids

’m a mother of two, that has been enjoying the magic of Disney since 1989 when my family first went to Walt Disney World. However, my love for the Disney Magic skyrocketed after my first trip to Tokyo Disneyland in 2003. This was my first international Disney vacation and it still holds a special place in my heart as my all-time favorite Disney Experience.

Since 2003, I’ve been very fortunate to have traveled to at least one Disney Park annually. In 2015 I placed traveling to every Disney Park on my bucket list and by August of 2016, my family and I was able to accomplish seeing all six parks around the world. When we started the bucket list, my children were 6 and 7 years old. Traveling with little ones presents its own challenges but having them experience different cultures was worth many of the challenges we faced on each trip.

During our trip to Disneyland in Paris, I came down with a fever and was stuck in bed for a day. Thankfully in Europe they have the most amazing medical professionals in their pharmacies to assess your medical needs instead of having to go to the doctor or hospital for something very minor.

My children were very helpful and understanding during my downtime. They reaped the reward of Disneyland Paris in which we had an amazing time, despite the cold weather.

Planning our trip to Shanghai Disneyland in 2016 was like a dream come true! This was my final Disney Park on my list and 5th for my children. Things to know about Shanghai is to ensuring you plan accordingly during the summer months. August is the hottest and most humid time to travel. In addition, the air quality conditions can be overwhelming for individuals with respiratory problems.

Once our Disney Parks were completed, it was time to start a new Disney experience. My family and I went on our first Disney Cruise August 2017. Prior to going on my trip, I researched a lot about how to prepare for our trip and I kept coming across Fish Extenders Gifts. I wanted learn more about it and then this led to weeks of YouTube videos watching and my creative juices flowing!

Fish Extenders are these small hooks located outside of your cabin door in which mail is placed for ship communications. Of course some savvy person saw this and said they could do more with it and started a great trend which also helps you meet people on your cruise through Fish Extenders Groups.

I joined my Fish Extenders Group via an online travel forum. I searched my Cruise ship and sailing date, then asked to join a group. My group only had 7 cabins, including ours. You don't have to buy a gift for everyone but I was over the top for my first time and probably gave out too much (my gift packages didn't fit most Fish Extenders).

Don't be like me, less is more and it'll save you extra room in your suitcase and money! One thing my family and I enjoyed making was my twist on the indoor Olaf snowball fight game. Since our trip was to the Caribbean, it had a Pirates of the Caribbean night at sea party. This gave me the idea of a Pirates of the Caribbean Cannon Ball Toss game. This fun, easy and inexpensive to do.

I went to my local craft store and purchased black yarn. It was on sale and costed under $4. I purchased sandwich bags from the dollar store and did a Goggle search for the Pirates of the Caribbean image, wrote Cannon Ball Toss below the image. You can print these on large index cards. To make the Cannon Balls, I initially wrapped a lot of yarn around my hand, cut the ends, then tied a piece of yarn to the middle of the loose yarn. Based on the size of the hand, it will determine the size of your cannon ball. To help give it a fuller look, I wrapped the yarn around CD case. You can get as creative as possible. Have fun with it and remember you can't go wrong with this fun gift!!!

In addition to my love of Disney, I’m an avid world traveler that has been to the Caribbean, Canada, Hawaii, China, Japan, West Africa, UK, France, Spain, Italy, and Germany.
